Emmanuel Wabwire is the Youth Chairperson, and doubles as the African World Heritage Youth Head of Delegation-AWHF. He champions all youth desk activities and programs through the secretariate engaging with both national and African regional actors under our mandate. He champions engagements of strategic youth partners from the respective various organizations. Some of the flagship programs they are running under the youth desk include the World Heritage Volunteers Program, the African World Heritage Youth Forum (that includes over 54 African countries) and the Transforming Education in partnership with Action Aid and the European Union.
The Youth Desk is also constituted of representatives from the National Youth Council, the Ministry of Education, Cultural institutions and Ministry of Gender, Labor and Women Affairs.
Emmanuel Wabwire is also, youth leader and Executive Director of Faraja Africa Foundation; a youth organization that strongly applies the principles of social entrepreneurship, leadership and civic engagement for social change in Africa region for sustainable development. He also is the Gold Award winner for the Duke of Edinburgh International Award. He carries academic qualifications in a Master’s in Business Administration and Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies.
Emmanuel has over 11 years of experience in youth leadership & development work under thematic areas of democratic governance, social entrepreneurship leadership and civic engagement, digital storytelling & literacy for advocacy, economic empowerment, and education. He has also had the privilege of serving in various leadership positions over the years, amongst which he was the: Chief Executive Officer & Founder of the International Student Society, the African European Regional Representative of the Commonwealth Student Association, the Guild President of Uganda Christian University, the Secretary for International Affairs for the Uganda National Student Association inline directly elected on the National Youth Council, Treasurer for Uganda Red Cross Society Youth Council, and a strong voice at the All Africa Students Union executive. He was nominated candidate and contested for the seat of the Youth Member of Parliament for Eastern Region (34 Districts) in the 2016 election.
