UNATCOM Board
It is a requirement of UNESCO that every Member State establishes a National Commission to ensure UNESCO’s permanent presences in the Country. By ensuring the permanent presence of UNESCO in Uganda, Uganda National Commission for UNESCO (UNATCOM) contributes to UNESCO’s effort to promote international co-operation in intellectual activities. UNATCOM is being governed by a New Board comprising of ten members since December 2018.

Functions of the UNATCOM Board
- To formulate and review the policy of the National Commission for UNESCO
- To carry out the objectives and functions of the National Commission for UNESCO
- To set targets for the annual performance of the National Commission for UNESCO
- To monitor and evaluate the performance of the management of the National Commission for UNESCO
- To determine the organizational structure and staffing of the National Commission for UNESCO
- To consider and approve plans of the National Commission for UNESCO
- To supervise the management of the property and business of the National Commission for UNESCO
