With support from the Science and Technology Sector of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), UNATCOM organized and conducted a training / a capacity-building workshop in software/ application development using Low code No Code Technology. The training was conducted from July 27 to 29, 2023 at Ntinda Vocational Training Institute, Kampala Uganda. The workshop aimed to bridging the gap in the field of information and communication technologies, strengthen the skills of young people and promote the digital economy.

In his speech at the opening session of the workshop, via videoconference, Dr. Adel Smeda, expert in the Science and Technology Sector, highlighted the Organization’s efforts to provide young people in the Islamic world with knowledge enabling them to take advantage of the potential of digital technology and contribute to the socio-economic growth of their societies, through the development and implementation of initiatives, projects and training on the promotion of industries, technology and innovation.
For their part, participants, including university students and experts in the field of digitization, stressed the importance of this workshop in bridging the digital divide and building the capacity of young people in the digital economy, through hands-on training sessions, interactive workshops and collaborative projects. In addition, participants will contribute to the development of digital applications and modeling software, while working to solve the resulting problems.
