Resource Centre

The overall objective of the Resource Centre (RC) is to streamline the flow of information within the organization and with her stakeholders in order to bridge communication gaps, enhance cooperation and foster understanding.

The specific objectives are to:
i. Coordinate, improve and consolidate the organisation's communication function
ii. Provide modern, adequate and efficient services
iii. Manage and improve the effectiveness of the organization
iv. Provide management and support services for the Information Sharing in the organization
v. Provide efficient management of records.
The content reflects the needs of the key stakeholders. Information held includes the five major programmes of UNESCO and they are categorized as below:

  • Natural Science
  • Social & Human Science
  • Culture
  • Information & Communication

In the Education sector we have sub-sectors which include:

  • Education for All
  • Adult Education
  • Literacy Education
  • Special Needs Education
  • Early Childhood
  • Education Planning
  • Technical & Vocational Education

In the Natural Science sector we have sub-sectors which include:

  • Fresh water
  • Earth Science
  • MAN & Biosphere
  • Environment

In the Human and Social Science sector we have sub-sectors which include:

  • Ethics
  • Management of Social Transformation (MOST)
  • Science Journals

In the Culture sector we have sub-sectors which include:

  • Heritage
  • Museum
  • Copy right

In the Communication & Information sector we have sub-sectors which include:

  • ICT
  • Freedom of Expression

TIME OF OPERATION
The Resource Centre is open from Monday - Friday, 8.30 am - 5.00 pm.
